"I would have just retired if I thought I couldn't go out there and be the best player on the field," Woodson said Wednesday by conference call. "That's how I feel."

ReporterBig things are in store for the big man of Cougar basketball.Cole Padilla, the 6-7, 245-pound Cougar center, has committed to play ball for Chandler-Gilbert Community College in the fall, and will spend the summer in camp for the Coyotes. This will be quite a change for Padilla, who was a scoring leader for CVHS during his high school career, but he's looking forward to adapting to the bigger, faster play at the next level."I was able to get a little feel for their program during an open gym a few weeks ago and some one-on-one training I had with Coach (Jaron) Neal," said Padilla. "It's a day and night difference between high school and college ball."Along with Padilla, mom and dad, louboutin, Stacy and Danny, are looking forward to Cole's court time, but also are looking forward to CGCC's emphasis on academics."They (CGCC) really emphasize grades and academics above the athletics," said Danny. "We as a family got a chance to walk the campus, and they really stressed that. That's one reason why we're really excited about Cole playing there."Padilla said that while he's leaning toward the engineering field, he hasn't yet decided where he will focus academically. He plans on focusing the next few weeks on his CVHS graduation and physical conditioning to get him through the long, hot Valley summer. He said he has been working out with several local basketball standouts, longchamp pas cher, including Prescott Badger star and friend, Jaran Hoover, to get ready for the CGCC summer program.Cougar coach Bill McKnight, who took over the program for the final half of the season, said he's confident Padilla will find success at CGCC."He's a great kid and has a great work ethic," said McKnight. "He's going to realize how hard he will have to work, but I know he can rise to the challenge. He loves basketball, he's a hard worker, and a team leader. I expect big things out of him and I'm very proud of him."McKnight, who took over after Coach Jim Acton left the program,p90x, has decided not to return to CVHS.Athletic Director Pete Jelovic said the school announced this past week that Chuck Schmitt will take over the program for the 2013-14 season.
The federation also argued that "ball movement became impossible given the quantity of snow on the field" and called for the punishment of the match officials who allowed the game to proceed.
